Achieving End TB by 2030, Central Government Suggests Bogor City Government Take These Steps

RADAR BOGOR – The International Healthcare Engineering Forum (INAHEF) was held again this year at Smesco Indonesia, Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/9/2024).

President of the International Healthcare Engineering Association, Prof. Eko Supriyanto, explained that this year’s INAHEF theme was “Embracing The Future: Smart Healthcare in Indonesia.” He highlighted several key topics discussed at the forum, including Tuberculosis (TB), one of the highest-ranking diseases globally.

“This forum consists of seminars aimed at promoting the concept of a smart hospital. This topic is comprehensively discussed during the International Healthcare Engineering Forum,” he said.

He noted that the topic of TB management needed to be addressed because Indonesia has the second-highest number of TB patients in the world. As a result, tackling TB has become a major government program.

“This is particularly important for realizing Indonesia’s goal to end TB by 2030. This involves providing comprehensive and modern healthcare facilities (fasyankes) in all districts and cities across Indonesia,” Eko stated.

He emphasized the need for the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies in a structured, systemic, and widespread manner in health screenings and disease prevention, including TB management, patient management, and improving healthcare services for the 10 leading causes of death in Indonesia, in an integrated manner.

Secretary of Bogor City, Syarifah Sofiah, stated that the city has already integrated primary healthcare services, especially regarding data on patients with diseases like TB. She mentioned that the Bogor City government has a system called Si Geulis, which is integrated and has measures for investigating these diseases.

Syarifah also pointed out that they have been preparing “smart” healthcare facilities and are focused on digitalization. However, she acknowledged the need for additional digital components.

“This includes adding AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems as suggested by the central government. For national data collection, it is impossible to do manually. We need to use technology so that all the data can be read by AI,” she explained.

In addition, Syarifah mentioned that the central government, through the Ministry of Health, has been guiding and encouraging the use of domestic medical equipment industries.
